In Ayurveda and the Orient, tea made from rose petals is considered a delicious drink and a medicinal herb with many uses. Rose water is also used for cooking and drinking.
Ayurveda says:
The sweet taste and the oily properties of the rose reduce Vata (ether and air element), and the cooling effect and the gently bitter, tart taste reduce Pitta .
The rose is related to the following systems: skin, circulatory system, female genital system, nerves
- Gently cooling, against excessive sweating, irritation and redness (compresses on eyes, for gargling,...)
- Aphrodisiac - sensual, relaxing and therefore good for your love life
- Skin care (for face, body and intimate care)
- Reduces heat in the body and mind (summer, Pitta, menopause)
- Refining taste
