This year is etched on the historic stamps of the herbal chemist's shop . Since this year, a dried herb shop has been located in Josefstadt's Kochgasse, where one can purchase dried medicinal plants.

Tram train of line 5 and a Stellwagen; the latter was
overturned, injuring three people seriously and five slightly.
Mag. pharm. Rudolf Liechtenstein
approx. 1920-1942
Lichtenstein Rudolf, born on May 22, 1878, completed his pharmacy studies at the University of Vienna with the Rigorosum on February 28, 1903, as Mag.pharm., according to the Catalogus pharmacopoeorum viennae examinatorum. According to Lehmann, he lived at Florianigasse 75 until around 1932 and was deported to Izbica and murdered on May 15, 1942 (Stone of Remembrance in 1090 Vienna, Glasergasse 18). Mag. Pharm. Birgit Heyn

After studying pharmacy, extensive travels in Asia, and completing an Ayurveda training, Birgit Heyn took over the traditional business. At the time, it was still located on the left side of the building's entrance, but soon became too small, and so...

Marlene Warelopoulos
1985
...they move to the larger premises next door. The beautiful old herb cabinet naturally moves with them, and Marlene Warelopoulos establishes the herbal pharmacy's vegetarian, wholesome cuisine with her culinary skills.

Anda Dinhopl starts working in the herbal pharmacy.
New courses and lectures
1993
Our 200th anniversary is a good opportunity to introduce a new tradition that remains popular today: in courses and lectures, herbalists provide information about medicinal herbs, essential oils, healthy nutrition, Ayurveda, and much more.
Women's herbs
1999
Anda Dinhopl's book "Women's Herbs" will be published in March. It's been a long-seller to date – we're delighted with the continued praise (and sales *g*)!
The cookbook
2001
At the request of many customers, the herbal pharmacy's extensive collection of delicious recipes has been transformed into the cookbook Healthy Enjoyment with Ayurveda.
The authors are Marlene Warelopoulos, Anda Dinhopl, and Birgit Heyn. It remains our best-selling book; several generations now cook according to our recipes and enjoy the delicious dishes.
Anda Dinhopl takes over the herbal drugstore
2009
Birgit Heyn will retire in July. Anda Dinhopl will take over management of the herbal pharmacy after more than two decades of diverse activities.
From 1987 to 2022, Anda Dinhopl put her heart and soul, her mind and soul into designing, communicating, learning and teaching in the herbal pharmacy .
She managed the herbal pharmacy from 2009 to 2022 and organized countless informational evenings. She is the author of books ( Women's Herbs, Ayurveda Cookbook ) and the author of countless articles and newsletters.
Renovation work for better energy efficiency
2011
The herbal pharmacy is being renovated . New windows, a new heating system, and more light will create a pleasant, open atmosphere and improve energy efficiency.
2015
The herbal pharmacy is 222 years old!
2017
Anda Dinhopl is celebrating 30 years of service with the herbal chemist's shop and thanks all of her customers for their loyalty, interest, and, above all, their trust! And her wonderful team of women for their outstanding work!

Anda Dinhopl retires

At the end of September, Anda Dinhopl will retire and Zsuzsánna Tamás-Szóra will take over the management of the herbal pharmacy.
