In Ayurveda and the Orient, tea made from rose petals is considered a delicious drink and a medicinal herb with many uses. Rose water is also used for cooking and drinking.

Ayurveda says:
The sweet taste and the oily properties of the rose reduce Vata (ether and air element), and the cooling effect and the gently bitter, tart taste reduce Pitta .
