This essential oil from Piedmont, Italy, supports concentration and mental work. Thyme thymol is considered fiery and strong. It is a very invigorating, strengthening essential oil for mental and physical exertion. All thyme species are typical winter scents. Due to its high concentration, it is best mixed with other, lighter essential oils. Irritates the skin; do not use undiluted. Avoid during pregnancy and with small children, as well as with high blood pressure and epilepsy.

Because of its diverse medicinal properties, monks cultivated thyme in their monastery gardens. Farfalla collects wild thyme for this essential oil in the Cévennes and Haute-Provence regions. Thyme linalol, geraniol, and thujanol are considered mild varieties of thyme.
