Oxymel - an ancient recipe
Traditions about oxymel and its use can be found in ancient medical and healing texts, such as those of Galen of Pergamon (129-199) or in the Middle Ages by Hildegard of Bingen.
Honey and vinegar - each a powerful home remedy with countless beneficial properties - are mixed together, and as a bonus, you can also add (medicinal) herbs to this potent mixture.
For a long, long time, so-called sour honey had a firm place as a medicinal form among healers and doctors.
In fact, the trunk can be used in many ways:
Take 1-2 tablespoons neat half an hour before your first meal, diluted 1:10 with warm or cold water, or—for even more refreshment—with cold mineral water. Its use in the kitchen also invites creative experimentation.
Honey contains over 180 different components. In addition to various types of sugar, it contains vitamins, minerals, flavonoids, and polyphenols (which act as antioxidants), as well as bee enzymes. The latter are responsible, among other things, for honey's anti-inflammatory effects.
The power of bees, microorganisms and plants
Vinegar is a fermentation product in which the alcohol in a fruit wine is converted into acid with the help of microorganisms. For its dietary benefits, vinegar was already highly praised by Hippocrates (the founder of modern medicine).
Both vinegar and honey have strong extraction power. When herbs or spices are added, the valuable essential oils and secondary plant compounds are gently dissolved and perfectly preserved in the honey-vinegar mixture.
For our oxymels, in addition to our organic honey, we only use products of controlled organic quality from Austrian manufacturers, such as Sonnentor and Gölles , for the other ingredients.
The "Queen of Flowers." Rose nourishes dry, sensitive skin and has a rejuvenating effect. The 10% rose dilution is suitable for use in a fragrance lamp or as a perfume.

Tips:
- In case of grief and sorrow, gently massage 1-2 drops of 10% rose oil mixed with organic care oil into the chest area.
- For a sensual body oil, mix 80ml of organic jojoba oil with 4 drops of bergamot/2 drops of rose 10%.
The name "Salvia" comes from the Latin "salvare," meaning to heal or save. The purifying effect of sage incense has been known since ancient times. This essential oil is used in aroma lamps to purify rooms and neutralize negative vibrations. In aromatherapy, the gentler, similarly acting clary sage is often used. Avoid during pregnancy and around children, as well as in cases of epilepsy. Neurotoxic.

This essential oil from Piedmont, Italy, supports concentration and mental work. Thyme thymol is considered fiery and strong. It is a very invigorating, strengthening essential oil for mental and physical exertion. All thyme species are typical winter scents. Due to its high concentration, it is best mixed with other, lighter essential oils. Irritates the skin; do not use undiluted. Avoid during pregnancy and with small children, as well as with high blood pressure and epilepsy.

The slightly tart and clear scent of lemon is refreshing, invigorating, and uplifting, especially when feeling down or lacking energy. It lifts the spirits and promotes clarity. Like all citrus oils, lemon essential oil stimulates communication and loosens tongues. It's ideal for travel, freshening hotel rooms, cars, and other spaces, and for focused work. Lemon is also frequently used in skincare recipes because it helps maintain skin youthfulness—for this purpose, the low-furocoumarin lemon variety is recommended, as it is less photosensitizing.

Tips:
- For shiny and soft hair, mix coconut oil with 1-2 drops of lemon oil for a fresh scent, apply to the ends and length of your hair, wrap in a terry towel, leave on for 20-30 minutes or overnight. Rinse thoroughly.
Even while driving, a handkerchief with two drops of lemon scent makes a revitalizing passenger. Simply tuck the scented handkerchief into a car air vent or use a car air freshener.
Australian lemon myrtle has a relaxing and stimulating effect, and the dosage is crucial. In strong dilution, it has a calming effect; in higher doses, it can have a stimulating effect. The essential oil from the lemon-scented leaves is valued in aromatherapy for its diverse uses, including as a winter protection fragrance with a feel-good factor.
Application
For skin applications, highly diluted (0.5%), in the fragrance lamp pure or mixed 1-1-1 with lavender and mandarin red for calming.
